Advising an international bank to develop new markets in Nepal
WLC advised and worked with Standard Chartered Bank on developing innovative approaches to retail banking and capital market development in the Nepali market. Standard Chartered explored the possibility of forming a capital market subsidiary, WLC enabled advisory services on the prospects and viability of starting such a unit.
WLC is providing expert services to Mahila Shayatra, a microfinance bank, to set-up new branches in the rural areas of Nepal. It advises the bank to design, coordinate and implement initiatives such as capacity and knowledge building in order to create economic opportunities in the rural areas of the country.
