Encouraging youth savings
WLC successfully led implementation of YouthSave findings in Nepal through a series of targeted activities in order to generate a dialogue on the importance of savings and, consequently, the need to create opportunities to channel these investments. As part of this, WLC created a platform where the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank, donor organisations, young political leaders, commercial banks, etc. discussed the need for an integrated approach for generating awareness in one hand, and on the other, to develop schemes for investment, particularly for youth in Nepal.
WLC designed, planned and managed various knowledge building and awareness generating activities – discussions and dissemination events – with efforts to bring together stakeholders from a range of sectors while engaging the media at different levels throughout the project.
Sponsored by the Master Card Foundation and jointly implemented by the YouthSave Consortium Nepal was one of the four countries where YouthSave programme was piloted.
